About me – and events

Talking to Paparoa Travel group

I was cooking directors’ lunches in London  when I first missed working with words, but the yearning soon sank under a sea of garlic and wine – although I did pen a yarn about flinging together feasts for holidaymakers in a ski resort.

Finally, after being editorial assistant for newspaper and magazine cook Tui Flower, then working for a magazine publisher and advertising agencies, a p.r. job me writing.

After countless creative writing courses, conferences and critique groups, I earned a Graduate Diploma in Journalism at AUT. Then, as a newpaper journo and while living at ‘the end of the road’, I wrote the columns that led to Love at the End of the Road.
